Defending Freedom…..

We decided it would be fun for the cub scouts to be in the Naples 4th of July parade. I was thinking simple but Steve wanted to go all out and so the project began….

DSC07484 We were quite resourceful and used the hurricane plywood we had in the garage! Since the theme was to be the Twin towers and defending freedom- yesterday and today- we had the boys dress up in costumes.

DSC07490 Manual & Wilson (brothers) were our firefighters! These outfits were ‘hot’ but the boys were real troopers and didn’t complain…

DSC07489 One of our Colonial soldiers along with our Army guy (who is wearing Steve’s helmet & jacket) and a firefighter!

DSC07492 These guys are also brothers and they are standing in front of our Twin Towers!

DSC07491 Waiting for the parade to start…. it was a hot day but the boys hung in there.  Thanks to Bill Smith for the use of his trailer and the Newsome Family for their truck! Also our local fire dept. Seems we always get help when we need it :)

DSC07495 It was Christopher's 8th birthday so we were happy to be able to celebrate his special day! This little guy is one of my favorites…

DSC07496 After the parade was the boys favorite part- swimming, lunch and fun!

We appreciate those that came out to support the boys- it was fun to see you on the sidelines, cheering us on!
